Yesterday was the last peak day of cherry blossom season, and I'm glad i made it down to the Tidal Basin! This year, instead of looking at the blossoms, I focused on what was happening because of them and around them.
The highlight of the day was when a little blond haired girl, old enough to walk but probably too young to talk, waved hello. With that one gesture, she cut through centuries of senseless hatred and bias.
